Warranty Policy

Every Vival Desk comes with a 1-year voluntary warranty from the date of delivery, focused on the motor system that powers your desk. This page explains what this voluntary warranty covers, what happens if your desk arrives damaged, what is not covered, and how to make a claim. This voluntary warranty is in addition to, and does not replace or limit, your rights under Singapore law, including the Sale of Goods Act and the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act (CPFTA) and its Lemon Law provisions. Your statutory rights cover the whole desk and are explained in full below.

Last updated: June 2026

Our 1-year voluntary warranty (motor and drive system) For one year from delivery, we cover manufacturing defects in the motor and drive system under normal use. This includes: - The dual motors. - The control box and controller. - The electronic components that run the lifting mechanism.

If any of these parts fail because of a manufacturing defect within the year, we will repair or replace the affected part free of charge, including parts and labour. This is a voluntary promise we make on top of your legal rights, and it reflects standard practice across the height-adjustable desk industry internationally.

Arrival condition (the whole desk, including the top) This is separate from, and broader than, the voluntary warranty above. If your desk arrives damaged or not conforming to what you ordered, including the walnut-finish top, the frame, or any part of the desk (for example a dent on arrival), we will put it right at no cost to you. Where needed, we will send a full replacement set. Goods that do not conform at the time of delivery are covered regardless of which part is affected, because the issue was present before you received the desk.

If your desk arrives damaged, please tell us within a reasonable time and send photos so we can arrange a free replacement quickly.

What is not covered by the voluntary warranty The voluntary warranty does not cover: - Cosmetic wear and tear, including minor marks and surface ageing of the walnut-finish laminate over time through normal use. - Accidental damage that happens after delivery during use (for example, denting or scratching the top yourself while using the desk). - Damage from misuse, abuse, dropping, or use outside the desk's intended purpose. - Loading the desktop beyond the maximum rated load of 100 kg, which is outside normal use. - Damage from unauthorised modification, disassembly or repair. - Damage caused after delivery by improper assembly, storage or environment (for example, liquid or moisture damage).

These exclusions apply only to damage you cause, or that arises after delivery during use. They do not limit our responsibility for a genuine manufacturing defect, or for any fault that was present at the time of delivery. A manufacturing defect that was present at delivery remains our responsibility under Singapore law, even if the affected part sits outside the voluntary warranty above.

Your rights under Singapore law (the whole desk) This section is important, and nothing in this policy reduces it.

Under the Sale of Goods Act and the CPFTA Lemon Law, the desk must be of satisfactory quality, match its description, and be fit for normal use at the time of delivery. "Satisfactory quality" includes the desk's appearance and finish, freedom from minor defects, safety, and durability. These statutory rights apply to the whole desk, including the top, the frame, and the motor system, and they cannot be excluded or limited by the scope of our voluntary warranty.

  • Six-month presumption. If a defect appears within six months of delivery, the law presumes it existed at the time of delivery unless we prove otherwise. The burden of proof is on us during this period, and this applies to any part of the desk.
  • After six months. Your statutory rights do not simply end after six months. You may still claim for a manufacturing defect that was present at delivery, including one that causes the desk to fail earlier than a reasonable person would expect for a desk of this type and price. After six months, the burden shifts to you to show the defect was present at delivery, subject to the general 6-year limitation period for contract claims.

How we put things right If the desk has a covered defect or does not conform to contract, you may first choose to have us repair or replace it, free of charge. We will only provide the other of those two remedies if the one you have chosen is impossible or disproportionately costly compared with the alternative. If we cannot repair or replace the desk within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you, you may then claim a price reduction or a refund.

  • You will not be charged for parts, labour, or the collection and redelivery of non-conforming goods.
  • Any refund for non-conforming goods is made to your original payment method, not as store credit.

Change-of-mind returns (goodwill, separate from defects) If you simply change your mind, we offer a 14-day goodwill return window from delivery, even though Singapore law does not require a cooling-off period for online goods. For a change-of-mind return: - The desk must be in resaleable condition. - You arrange and pay for the return logistics. You may bring the desk to our store, or arrange your own courier. We do not cover return shipping for a change of mind.

This goodwill policy applies only to change-of-mind returns. If the desk is defective or arrives damaged, it is handled free of charge under the sections above, and you do not pay any return or collection costs.

How to make a claim Email support@projectvival.com with: - Your order number. - A description of the problem. - Photos or a short video showing the fault, if possible.

We will assess the claim and tell you the next steps. For change-of-mind returns and other refund questions, see our Refund & Return Policy.
